Blank Rasterizer Palette Material Library
Use this template as an organizational checklist while discovering settings for one material. It contains no usable laser recipes.
Generate the template
Enter the exact Material Name you want the library to use, then download the generated .clb file below. The file contains one disabled placeholder for each of the 30 artwork swatches, plus dedicated Labels and Fauxlographic support entries.
Every entry is deliberately unusable
Every generated entry begins with UNCONFIGURED followed by its swatch name, such as UNCONFIGURED Blue. It is also hidden and assigned zero power and zero-valued placeholder parameters. These values exist only to keep the XML structurally complete. They are not recommendations, starting settings, or safe laser recipes. Never enable or run an unconfigured entry.
Replace a placeholder only after testing
When you discover a repeatable setting for a particular color, replace every applicable value in that entry with the tested values from the exact laser, lens, material, finish, focus, and preparation used during discovery. Remove the UNCONFIGURED prefix from the entry Description so only the exact swatch name remains, then enable output only after reviewing every parameter.
Configure the support entries when needed
Labels and Fauxlographic are included as disabled support entries rather than artwork swatches. Configure Labels with a conservative tested setting that produces readable small text; Color Lab grids and refinements, Fauxlographic Etching Lab calibration grids, and Material Coupons can use it for generated identification text.
Configure Fauxlographic with your most iridescent tested setting when using Krasnow Grating workflows. It must use Cut mode rather than Fill or Offset Fill because the diffraction geometry depends on precise individual lines. Additional sublayers are ignored for this purpose.
Leave either support entry disabled and marked UNCONFIGURED until you have replaced all of its placeholder values with a setting tested on your laser and material.
Remove what you do not configure
Delete placeholders you do not intend to fill, or leave them visibly marked and disabled. Do not rename a placeholder to a normal swatch name until its complete tested setting has been entered. Rasterizer rejects a material that still consists entirely of its generated placeholders.
Review before every use
Open the completed library in LightBurn and verify operation type, minimum and maximum power, speed, frequency, pulse width, interval, angle, crosshatch, passes, and output state. Test on expendable material before engraving finished work. A template organizes records; it cannot make unknown settings safe.
