Painting Manual Depth Corrections
Automatic depth estimation is a starting point. The brush lets you replace incorrectly interpreted areas with an explicit relative depth without leaving the browser.
Brush Depth
Brush Depth selects the replacement relative depth from Farther to Closer. The circular brush indicator shows the grayscale color that will be painted, and its color changes appropriately when depth is inverted.
Brush Size
Brush Size controls the diameter of the painted stroke in output pixels. The circular brush indicator grows or shrinks with the slider. A larger output image may require a proportionally larger brush to cover the same visible feature.
Painting
Click or drag directly on the editable grayscale preview. The brush replaces the depth values beneath the stroke rather than applying a partially transparent overlay. The tool fills the path between pointer positions so an ordinary drag produces a continuous stroke instead of a row of separate dots.
Painted corrections appear in both grayscale previews, the relief projection, and the exported PNG.
Clear Painted Edits
Clear Painted Edits removes the manual correction layer and rerenders the map using the current initialized depth, Depth Palette guidance, clipping, curve, inversion, dimensions, and padding. It does not reset any of those controls.
Editing strategy
Correct large background mistakes first, then refine silhouettes and internal surfaces. Use smaller strokes near boundaries. Check the relief projection after each group of edits, but return to the grayscale preview whenever the exact depth value matters.
Choose dimensions before detailed painting
Changing the output dimensions or border padding rebuilds the output canvas. Set the intended artwork size and perimeter before detailed painting whenever possible so the correction coordinates remain aligned with the final depthmap.
